Spacing, colours and small interactions tidied up throughout the new web app, ahead of it replacing the old one.

• A new Settings page with Account and Appearance sections.
• Choose light, dark or system theme. The choice is saved on each device.
• Pick one of 12 accent colours. It syncs with your account, so it follows you to any browser.
• Choose a background image from 11 presets, or upload your own.
• Change your password, sign out, or delete your account (which also cancels a web subscription).
• Focus rings now always have enough contrast to see, whatever accent you choose.

• Drag tasks to reorder them, or drop one onto another task to move it inside.
• Hover over a task while dragging and it opens, so you can carry a task deep into the tree.
• Drag to reorder your Today list.
• New accounts get a short walkthrough that teaches by doing: create a task, break it down, tag it, star it. Anything you make is kept.
• Start a 30-day free trial right in the app, and manage billing from Settings.

• Star a task to add it to Today.
• Give any task a due date with quick picks for Today, Tomorrow and Next week.
• Repeat tasks daily, weekly on chosen days, monthly on chosen dates, or yearly. They come back on their own when due.
• A Due view lists overdue, today and upcoming tasks.
• Hashtags in task text are now links, and each tag has its own view.
• An Archive of everything you've completed.

• Open a task and its subtasks appear in a new column. Your path through the tree stays on screen and in the address bar.
• Edit a task by double-clicking it.
• Completed tasks collapse into a Completed section at the bottom of each list.
• Deleting a task tells you how many subtasks go with it.

• Subscribe from inside the iPhone and Android apps. A subscription from the web app is recognised too, so nobody pays twice.
• Onboarding is down to four steps.
• If you're offline, the app trusts your last known subscription, so you're never locked out on a plane.

Work began on a rebuilt web app. Like the mobile app, it keeps a full copy of your tasks in the browser, so it works without a connection and syncs when you're back online. Signing out now clears that copy from the browser.

Your light or dark preference is now remembered on each device separately, so your phone and laptop can differ.

Start typing a hashtag and Tatask suggests tags you've used before.

Drop a task onto another one to make it a subtask.

Due dates can now be set beyond the end of the current year.
